Hi all,

Just picked up some locks from the local locksmith having a clean out and would like some information on them. I will include pictures and any details I have.

Especially interested in the Abloy SA 8.1 as he said if I can pick that one, he will give me a job, so it must be a high security one. Have searched on the Abloy site but no reference available.

First pair are 7 pin tubular lock

Third is Emhart key.

Photos 4 and 5 are Emhart lock

Photos 6 and 7 are Abloy QT65b lock

Last photos are Abloy SA 8.1 lock

Having a ball picking regular house locks and padlocks so these should keep me going for a while.
Going back tomorrow for more when the clean out is complete. So watch this space.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Greg

Have since found out the Abloy are disc locks and need a tool to rotate the discs in order to release the side bar. Might have to make one of those now.
My home made key tool set is growing with every new lock I get.
Just made a tension wrench for the tubular lock.

How will you know when the discs are rotated the right amount for the sidebar to fall in? Another disc will need tensioning if you want to get feedback...

If you really are determined to pick the Abloy locks then please keep us updated with your progress. It is not easy, they are very well designed locks. They are pickable but you will need to make a custom tool. I have found that the Abloy Classic just keeps throwing up challenges to being picked, it's very frustrating! I will get it soon enough though...

H&M make a 'pick' for the Abloy Classic but it is a pile of shit, a complete waste of money. I have seen only one other tool and that only worked with a modified lock (cheating). I think it was more a proof of concept tbh. There are other ways to open these locks over just picking. As well as impressioning, they can be decoded rather easily and they can also be opened using a pin and cam system.
