free car with a caveat

I have been a member here for quite a long time, so I hope this won't be taken the wrong way. Coming from a newcomer this is generally considered a pretty offensive question. I need to know if a slim jim will work on a 2005 Honda Accord.
I was given the car in question by my brother and his wife. It's a really nice car with the exception of a broken mirror, which I plan to fix, and a broken lock system, which I don't plan to fix, lest I defeat the purpose of having a free car.
Basically, there is a key that came with the car that works on the ignition, so it can be driven no problem, but the door won't open with it, so you either can't lock the doors ever or you have to figure out another way to open the door.
I was wondering if a slim jim could work as a backup. There would be times when I'd need to lock the door so I'd need to open it. Maybe with a little practice it could basically work like a huge, unweildy key? I realize it will look like I'm breaking in, but where we park at work it's pretty private so I'm not too worried about that.
Anyway, any advice would be appreciated. If a slim jim wouldn't work, what about a particular jiggler? Any recommendations?
