Re: "The Ultimate Lock"
if you were wanting an ultimate lock no one could get in. and as it has been said before if it can be opened with a key it can be opened without a key.
your deadlock feature may work but so does my night latch.
the only special thing your locks has is that it is touch to kick in... you solved one problem and claim it to be ultimate, yet you did not even incorperate solutions to other problems that have been provided for you.
there is no need to reinvent the wheel, if you want a tougher cylinder ask another company to be inside your lock
the ultimate padlocks use medeco cylinders granted they could have put a better cylinder in there but they kept it local. (I'm talking about S&G)
and I dont think it can be called bump/pick proof if it can be bumped/picked at all...
my front door has a nice deadlatch at the top does that make it pick proof... if you pick my door you still wont get in... hell you could pick all 3 locks on my door and not get in... does that make it pick proof... no you can pick it... you just dont get if you do in.
I don't mean to seem like I'm butting in being that I'm relatively new to this particular forum but I have been around as some of you know and I did read all this thread. just my 2 cents. $180 for nothing more than a schlage and a deadlatch with nice screws.
