Lock of the week is... ASSA

Okay, so the whole idea behind this is that every week we will have a new "lock of the week" and there will be a thread started for it where you can post anything about that lock (pictures, information, little tips) that way you don't have to really search far to find something you are looking for.

Well lets get to it... This weeks lock will be ASSA. Have fun!

Is this for ANY ASSA or just the V-10?

Cos I freaking love ASSA locks too and they've done others that are pretty cool...like the Desmo for example.

**EDIT** Also, I'm not trying to be clever here but ASSA also incorporate Abloy too now but I take it that Abloy locks (also uber cool) are for another week?

It is for any ASSA.

Here is where I am at with my ASSA collection... I would have one more but I locked it up and I am still trying to fix the problem.

Forgot to post my cutaway in my ASSA collection, so here it is. I tried to sell it a while ago but things just didn't work out so now I guess I am keeping it.

I love the ASSA Ruko padlocks! Has anyone around here ever got their hands on a ASSA Ruko 4?

"Lock of the week"... great idea Mathias! I love it.

I've personally never picked an ASSA, and haven't really tried.
The fact that they intimidate me, I'll admit.... turns me on. lol
I have only one & it just doesn't feel right to get started on it yet.

Can't wait to see what's in store for us next week!

I think we will go for Abloy like huxleypig suggested... Then maybe go to American locks!

Re: Lock of the week is... ASSA

Good point Alan! Thanks for thinking of that and linking back to the other section. I believe. that this new lock du jour section. is a great idea (thanks nnfak!) It seems a good way to drive more discussion and presents an opportunity to aggregate more brand specific lock information that may not otherwise be thought of to share; even though there are quite a number of brand specific fourms on this site. I think that perhaps we should add a post in here with links to the extant fourms. However. to keep it from distracting attention from this new forum that we should only add a brand's link to that post as they are added as a lock of the week. In addition, we should likely link back to here from their respective forums.

Thoughts anyone?
