Re: ABLOY Disclock Padlock Cutaway

In the first shot of the bottom of the lock I notice the retaining ring looks much like those on the Chinese disk detainers. I am certain the answer is no, but is there any chance that ring can be pryed out with a screwdriver the way we have seen it done with the cheap locks on video?

Good question, escher7. The original ring I had to destructively remove so I could disassemble the lock and rekey it. The new ring comes from ABlOY, and is for an ABLOY ProTec padlock.

No, it can not be pried out. In the fourth picture, you can see a hole (partly cut away) through which when the shackle is open, you can access a 2mm set screw which holds the retaining ring. The cap does not pry out.

P.S. This is a factory cutaway.

Well shit yeah, lol. According to my calculations, this fully qualifies as some porn :D

p.s. Hate this time of year when I have to step back from the forum a bit... lack of time.
