Re: L0ckcr4ck3r's Cutaways

Holy hell that turned out insanely nice! BEAUTIFUL!! Top notch work indeed.

My vote was going to be w/o the series #. Seeing it now, I'm glad you kept it.
And I agree with Deadlock... that beveled edge is just fantastic. Adds a lot.

Re: L0ckcr4ck3r's Cutaways

Kinda kicking myself for not snapping a photo of the first lock body cut today... of course it went straight in the mail to the Lock Goblin! Seriously, thanks for helping to key/combinate these Gordon! Thanks to Jeff for organizing the Blanks and lock bodies and to Eric for the cores :D

Best 41B72Ts Got some tool deflection in the top right corner of the core housing but thats now fixed. Hoping mid week next week to get them back for some final shots!

Re: L0ckcr4ck3r's Cutaways

Good work!
Did you cut your logo into the body? 800 something? Can we get a straight on picture of that? What exactly does it mean? Or is this the 8th (008) cutaway that you have done?
Thanks

Re: L0ckcr4ck3r's Cutaways

Thanks Flywheel :D

Credit needs to go to MrAnybody for this though he was the one that told me i should be adding a makers mark and serial numbers to them. I will try and hide them or put them in a place thats not obvious.
I'll also include a key tag with the S/N and the Lock model number on it. That one just happened to be the 8th one i made and its already assigned to someone :)

Work of art on the maker's mark and number. Simply awesome. Key tag is far more than sexy too :D

I love it as well, kinda matches the Cutaway theme... BUT sad thing is I'm not going to be able to do them like that at the moment, gunna just stick with engraving it for now :(

I'm managing to cut an average about 1.3 tags before the 0.60mm (thats about 1/50th of an inch) gets destroyed! My main spindle has too much runout in it for these tiny cutters... I've got some ideas on how to do it in the future... maybe have a custom punch made or something
