Mayday 2015 Lock Giveaway Contest! -CLOSED-

Have you ever seen a lock that made you stop and look in amazement at just how badly installed it was?
Now is your time to get some recognition! And win some FREE locks. Everybody likes free locks, right?

To enter all you need to do is submit a photograph of the most funny/botched/futzed/messed up lock application in the wild.
Some examples would be things like a gate locked with a chain and the chain is held together with zipties, a deadbolt or padlock hasp with the mounting screws accessible from the outside, or some other mistake where even a child could get past it without much trouble.

You will need to have a note with Keypicking.com and your forum user name in the photo next to the lock to prove that you took the picture.
This is a photograph contest, not a google contest.
The photograph must be uploaded directly to the thread, not hosted outside the forum, because good pictures like the kind we're hoping to get, we'd like to have available for members to view on the forum for years to come, without the problem so common to forums, of broken hotlinks to pictures hosted offsite which are later taken down for some reason.
If you don't know how to upload a picture directly to your forum post, here is a tutorial that was kindly written by forum member Aedalas:
https://ssl.keypicking.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=6755
Forum members may each submit up to 5 entries in this contest, if you're diligent and manage to find lots of examples of terribly installed or applied locks.

The winner will be decided by a vote among the mods and admins. And maybe MBI's cat.

The contest will run for 30 days, starting at 12:01am on May 1, 2015 and ending at midnight on May 30, 2015 (EDT GMT-5).
The winner will be announced as soon as possible, hopefully within one week after the contest ends.
This contest is open worldwide and we will pay shipping costs, anywhere around the globe where the winner ends up being. Except maybe like Antarctica or something. Or the ISS. Shipping costs to those places must be insane.
It will be sent as a gift to try to help you avoid duty fees, however if Customs in your country decides to charge you fees, that is beyond our control and would be your responsibility in that eventuality.

The prize is one BEST padlock with Safety First logo and three progressively pinned cores.
Pinning and key cuts will be decided by the contest winner.
The cores will be pinned with 4, 5 and 6 pin stacks or any combination the winner would like.
Included will be a control and an operating key. If the winner would like it master pinned a master key will also be included.

This is the actual lock and cores you will be receiving. Click the picture to see a bigger version.
best 1.jpg

For now, the only prize is this SFIC Progressive Picking Challenge Lock Kit for the winner.
However, if there is good participation we may add other prizes as the month goes on, perhaps for 2nd or 3rd place, or whatever seems appropriate.

Let's try to keep the thread clean to make it easier to scroll through and view submitted pictures.
Try to limit posts in this thread to submitted pictures, or questions about the rules if there is something we didn't properly cover here.
If you wish to comment on any pictures, or give your unofficial vote for winner that you'd like us to consider, please do so in this thread at the end, AFTER the contest concludes on May 30th. We'll probably wait 3 or 4 days to vote to allow time for people to post comments in the thread.

Check! It is a photograph and the lock is in the wild, so...legal loophole!

Security exploits abound!!

20150501_092756.jpg

SUPER secure "Knox" box.

20150501_092543.jpg

Keyless entry system.

20150501_092114.jpg

I really question if people know what locks are for.

I actually have a horrible picture of a cable lock protecting a pool gate. One where a child could slip right through. I had to get the heath dept involved and they came and fined said property. Ill have to sift through my pics.

Cannot use that as an entry since there is no tag with your name and Keypicking.com in the picture.
