key is the keyring...

Has anyone encountered these before; or anyone have a product review of this item:

http://www.keybrid.com/

the video shows you can make bubbles with it as well...the options are endless it may seem. but one could easily make these with some solder or by tacking the key to the ring.

Re: key is the keyring...

Interesting idea. I wonder how strong the joint is between the key blade and the ring. Looks like only SC1 and KW1 are available so far. At nine bucks apiece you'd better hope they don't mess up when you take it somewhere to have it cut.

Check out the animated gif on the main page. The "cuts" that flash on and off looks like someone cut them with a dremel. Badly.

I just saw this yesterday on an edc blog site. Its a neat concept. However I too would be worried about the strength of the bond between the key and ring. My guess is that you will likely end up with a broken off keyblade at some point.

I'd definitely be worried about applying any torque on a sticky deadbolt.

Re: key is the keyring...

all valid concerns folks, but you're overlooking the fact that you can make bubbles...a broken key here or there isn't any match for ten cents worth of fun.

Actually now that I see your point, I would probably rig a small fan and soap dispenser to the keyway for frantic bubble action every time you open your door!
