Re: Space and depth keys

Oldfast,

Keep in mind that if the Chicago locks you are wanting to make keys for are the dual-sided wafer locks with the bits that 'wave' (width from side to side stays the same - when one side's cut goes deeper, the other side gets higher), that you will need to either pick it and try reading the wafers, or get a set of try-out keys.

Re: Space and depth keys

You did not mention Corbin Russwin...but there are several key bitting classes (X class, Z class, DH class, N class, 981 class, etc) and two different depth systems, Pre-System 70 and System 70 (with a few exceptions)

Re: Space and depth keys

Gordon & Jeff.... thanks for the info.

Just an update: You guys are great! A transaction with Keymaster left me with a
NICE handful of S&D keys. Also, Selim is cooking something up for me as well

In the meantime, I'm still on the prowl for any and all S&D keys folks.
The older the better. Or new, I don't care. And any key gauges too!

What I have so far....
Ilco X1054K 0-9
Ilco H1098X 1-5
Dexter DE6 0-9
Corbin CO106 1-6
Corbin SX1000F 0-9
Best A1114A 1-9
Yale 997DA 1-5
Chicago 1041Y 1-7
Thanks again Jim!!

On a sidenote: The folks at Foley Belsaw are great. All the FB model 200 parts are still available on their
website and at very reasonable rates! I also called and talked with a locksmith instructor there who was very
giving of his time for all my crazy detailed questions. Out his office window he can see these nice little cutters
being made (very much the same way as they did so many years ago). Don't fix something that's not broke :)

Re: Space and depth keys

IF there's any room left in that box by the time you're done

Thank you Jeff! Much appreciated. Only one I currently have is for Schlage.

Re: Space and depth keys

Oldfast...you are in luck! I had not 1, but 3 A2 SFIC key gauges, one of them is now marked for you :)
