Primus key blanks come from the factory pre-cut to your registered bitting.That's why we say they're restricted. This is Schlage's way of protecting the registered dealer (locksmith)'s territory. The 6-digit number on the keys is the registration number, identifying the individual lock shop.

I suppose the side bitting can be modified, if one has some pretty fancy milling equipment.
