American key blank for 747/748 padlocks

I have a 747 w/o key that I picked and now need blanks. I also have a 748 that I'd like to have a second key for so will need a blank for it too.

I think the blank is 1041U for both locks.

If anyone can sell me about 5 of these blanks, please pm me with cost and we can see what we can work out.

Thanks for the help.....
Steve

1010U is not the right profile. You would actually need the reverse which is a Sargent R keyway, but is way too large for the American keyways.

Re: American key blank for 747/748 padlocks

I have used a file on regular American 6 pin blanks to make temporary keys to these locks. The correct blanks are a little on the pricey side I remember. I remember what I charged my customer at the time but I don't remember what our cost was.

Thanks for the feedback.
I'll file some regular blanks I guess. I can get them at a local hardware.
