Just a short update...we're getting power back slowly, but my section will be out for 2 more weeks...

It's starting to get hot..temp in the mid 80's and humidity will be rising...next week, back to 90's...

More stores are opening, as well as gas stations...ice went from $1.50 a bag (10 lbs) to $2.69 overnite.....bastards...

Any carpenters or skilled tradesmen looking for work will find plenty in Houston/Galveston and surrounding. Galveston has almost been wiped off the face of the earth....nothing but slabs and debris...and older buildings standing....most new bldgs gone

Sucks to go without power that long. Since you are posting I take it that the marine batteries you are using aren't dead yet?

A friend is letting me use his generator to run my battery charger. I have 5 hi-amp marine batteries that I charge in rotation.

It works for charging my laptop and a small fan. My big TV is dead until I get the mojo from the utility company.

Funny...people pay big bucks to go to a sauna...I get it free.

Ol' HC is definitely buying a generator once things settle down.

Yeah, and make sure you keep gas for it. Last year the power was out for about 3 days here, my dad had a generator to run the sump pump, but didn't have gas for it. Luckly there were a few gas stations open.

I need to some to catch up with my work obligations, but I'll be back and on track ASAP!
