What's your favorite video editor

Some people around here have put together some nicely edited videos. (I'm lookin your way Hallis and Lew) What do you all you use, if anything, to add music/text and piece it together? If its freeware, all the better.

(apologies if this should be Random Banter and not software)

Re: What's your favorite video editor

I use Windows Movie Maker...and I also have Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite.

I use Windows Movie Maker about 90% of the time - although I am going to have to start exploring the tools in Media Creator.

As for audio, in Winows MM, you can go in and mute the video's recorded audio. I then find a suitable audio track that I use as my music bed - and add different audio wav files for audio efx (shotgun blast, Dragnet, etc.).

If I find a music track I like, I either download it or record it in Media Creator's Sound Editor and can play with the Enhancer, Equalizer, Sound Effects or Clean Up.

I usually maximize the audio so it will sound better in the video.

Hope that helps. :D

Re: What's your favorite video editor

Much appreciated. Sounds like Windows MM should be fine for the simple things I'm trying to do. But I'm gonna give Vegas a shot. Thanks, crazy, for the link.
