I was thinking of buying some because I can not stand a scratch on a lock as long as it is completely new so I was wondering if anyone uses them and what is a good brand?

A cheap version would be just to use a piece of a mousepad on each side of the lock.

Re: Rubber vice pads?
my Stanley vice came with pads, but I don´t like to use them. I feel the feedback is better when the rubber dont damp it.
Re: Rubber vice pads?
Perhaps you could go to home depot and find something? Maybe like rubber fittings/etc? There's gotta be something there.
The code is hidden in the tumblers. One position opens the lock, another position opens one of these doors...

Yeah what xeo said... that or, you could use felt pads like you put under furniture if you have hardwood floors. That would work well too!

Yeah I just checked Home Depot but they didn't have any but I have found other places that do so I might get one. The felt pads is a good idea too.
Re: Rubber vice pads?
I used to use some rubber I cut out of some scraps for a work bench top. Worked great to hold locks in place for impressioning etc.

Panavise comes with nylon jaws that won't scratch or mar your locks. I've had mines since 2003 and it's great. It can also interchange with metal jaws too that you can purchase separately.
