Re: new lock im thinking of buying

Bypass? Why?

the end point is so far away that the chain needs to be long. Which gives us two methods:
1, Good ole' "Builders Keys". Cut the chain with some bolt cutters.
2, Such a long chain allows a long travel before the door is stopped, which means kicking out those two screws holding it to the frame would be easy as hell. Actually, come to think of it, I'd have enough room to get an arm or two and a screw driver in there, Undo the screws and replace them when I was done.

Actually, now that I look at it more clearly

http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/titaniumlabyrinth.html

It looks to just be two plates (one blank, one stamped) riveted together. (the other little circles in certain places in the center)
So, one could effectivly bend a larger section out and remove the chain from there, from outside.

Ugh, that is cool looking, but I hate it with a passion. I would have to wake up in the morning to that damn thing.
