Kaba ....Kosher Locks not so kosher. MWT reports

Seems that Kaba has a major problem with some of their other locks. Simplex locks can be opened with
powerfull magnets.

Now an interesting spin on the story........ horribly over simplified ,is that orthodox jews are forbiden to use locks with keys on the sabbath.

Simplex locks use push buttons and they are allowed. They are in a way "Kosher Locks"

Many jews are using these locks and finding that they are not "quite as good" as they are supposed to be

There is a major lawsuit because virtually the entire Orthodox community relies on Kaba crap and
they are not happy that idiots can so easily open their $300 locks.

Read the following links where Marc Tobias (who happens to be an excellent lawyer as well as lock expert) explains some of the issues.

Uhhh.... No. You can still use a lock with a key on the Sabbath.

Also there is already a link to this in the DefCon thread.

I was told that it was a restriction on carrying the key, but if the person wears the key on their person they can use it.

I like that, Jewish Geek Squad! #foundingmember

Jewish Geek Squad. In my high school there was a similar group called The Jew Crew.

Appears I'm about 9 months behind the times here. Nevertheless, both articles were very interesting reads.
