Memorial Day

While everybody is busy stuffing themselves with BBQ & beer (Heinekin? ....F#@k that sh*t...Pabst Blue Ribbon!) this Memorial Day, we ought to take a few minutes and really remember what this day is really about.

There are service men and women that are in some shitty podunk country that are dodging bullets - not mosquitos. Some will never enjoy another Memorial Day. They'll pay the ultimate price so others can sit around fat, dumb, and happy.

Next time you see someone in uniform - or a vet walking by, just say, "Thank You".

It will mean more than some scummy politician wrapping himself in the flag - just to get a few votes.

agreed, so many people take things for granted, my old man has been a police officer for years and my best friend is an FBI agent and honest to god some of the stories i've heard from them you wouldn't believe. these guys really do not get the credit they deserve. Please spare a thought on the danger they encounter everyday and appreciate what they do for us.

Ah, Memorial Day. My grandfather was a WWII vet and I tell you, the stories he passed down were horrible. No man should know the feeling of seeing his comrads sliced virtually in half by piano wire, or know what it's like to eat, shit, and drink out of the same damn helmet. And that's nothing. It's a shame that men, women and children are all lost for such a cause, however, if it weren't for them, I would not have the life I live today. So yes, thank you.

Aww, I'm very sad to hear of your loss! It sounds like he lived a full life. I mean, how more blessed can you be than to see your children and grandchildren grow?
