Server Issues - Technical Difficulties

Some of you may have noticed we were having server issues earlier this morning.

:spinning:
This problem was totally out of our hands - and we had to rely on the service provider to repair the problem.

As of now, the provider has moved us to a new server and hopefully the issue is completely resolved.

If you have problems, please notify me or Elbow, ASAP.

Thanks!

Re: Server Issues - Technical Difficulties

Yep, it appears that there was a hard drive failure on the server. They have moved the site to a warm backup host and everything appears to be intact from the digging around I've done so far on the server. I saw hard drive errors listed in the logs on the server this morning when the site was down and couldn't be restarted. I tried what I could do remotely, and unfortunately the issue had exceeded what one can handle from a remote location and required intervention from the hosting company. I do have to say, that I am impressed that they were keeping a warm backup and were able to basically just switch the IP addresses of the machines to bring the backup server live.

It was approximately around 4AM Eastern that the server started experiencing trouble. Yet, it's hard to say exactly when the site itself went offline though, as I no longer have access to the logs of the former server.

But all in all we're back up and that's the important part!

And thanks for the support of those who emailed us and offered assistance!
