I can commiserate with Cow bite on drilling his thumb, but I have seen worse. I really should have known better, but one day I ended up drilling something in my lap. The drill went through, wound my pants and pubic hair into a nice tight ball before ripping it out by the roots .... and continuing downwards to drill a rather painful hole in my ...... I am sorry it is too painful to continue ... but forever after, my electric drill was called ..."The Black and Decker Pecker Wrecker" !.

Like I told elbow in PM- I was drilling a screw into place (had a screwdriver bit in it) and it slipped of the head. The bit went into the middle of my thumbnail, twisted, split the nail and half of the nail twisted and jammed and sliced into the nailbed. I had to untwist the nail out of the gash so that it would lie flat so I could bandage it. Nail shit hurts like nothing else.

Once, I smashed the christ out of my ring finger with a log so badly that the entire nail, bone and everything was completely broken, smashed and destroyed. I almost lost the finger tip. It took 6 months to heal right and a year to get the nail regrown. amazingly it looks fine. Did you know your fingernail goes about 1/4 inch down under your skin? It was CRAZY seeing it hanging out of my body.

Yeah, one time I banged my bare foot on something and ripped off half of my big toenail... bled like CRAZY! the part that came out had the nail bed on it... I cut it down to just the nail bed part and stuffed it back in. THAT fucking HURT! And at first it grew out bifrucated, but eventually rejoined.
