Old mate of mine from glasgow is really into it, brews all kinds of stuff... mostly beers and wines, I've never tried it but he says it's pretty decent. There's a guy near me who brews his own cider and it's lethal stuff, not as flavoursome as it could be but holy hell. Rocket fuel, nuff said. Not my kind of hobby though, I'd rather just drink it.

I have made some moonshine, not hard to make at all, I use Karo syrup and yeast, works really well, make it on stovetop.
I have been in the souls of many women, but I always end up on the soles of there shoes.

Re: Any homebrewers here? not homebrew picks, but homebrew brew

.45 I gotta say that it's really worth it, but make sure you get fresh ingredients. especially if you're using extract. If the kit you got a year ago came with extract and yeast toss both and get fresh, you will be greatly rewarded for it! Old extract can make for some weird flavors and old yeast will likely not do a very good job ramping up it's population leaving lots of time for other wee beasties and or a weak ferment either of which can also produce some unfortunate flavors. Not to take away from time reading this forum of course, but check out the forums at the brewing supply site "Northern Brewer" there is TONS of good info and helpful people there http://forum.northernbrewer.com/index.php. A well made homebrew is going to be way better than what you can buy for the same amount of money the ingredients cost you.

I just hope your throwing out the "heads" and "tails" or you're gonna have some health problems! But then again I wouldn't know anything about distilling as that is not legal... ;)

I make beer, cider, and also some wine for my wife. All come out excellent. I make all kinds of beer styles depending on the mood I'm in on brewday. However as far as cider goes, I have a formula I use that yields something similar to strongbow, but with alot more apple flavor and more tart (I can't stand sweet cider.) Although, I did make an oaked cider/mead hybrid once and that stuff was like 15% or so and needed to age about two years before it was drinkable, at that point it was amazing! and I still have about 2L left of a 5 gal batch still aging, but it's definitely a sipper LOL
