Fighting For EZP!!

OK guys.

Just so you know over the coming days i'm gonne be speaking with the ezp owner (ezpicker) and tech admin (BudWiser) to try and get full server access and control and hopefully get ezp back up and running for you guys.

As i have said in the past even tho i am a full administrator of EZpicking i have no access to the server so i can't fix what i don't have.

If i am granted rights to the server then it shouldnt be a problem getting it all back up and running but it wouldn't harm to have someone else on side who is experienced with VB boards.

If i do manage to get everything back in full swing i honestly can't see the database being in tact so we will probably have to start again and rebuild but it's better than nothing.

Let me know how you feel about this and if you want to help.

Lewis.

Re: Fighting For EZP!!

I would love to see it back also, but mainly for all the archived info that was on there, i mean the tech drawings of the homebrew stuff, the costum picks thread that was on there, not to mension the miles of thread of useful knowledge and info people had added.

If its all gone, it seems a lot of work for something that is working bloody well here. Ok the content isnt the same as what was on ez, but if we have lost that forever then theres nothing anybody can do. If most of the active members of EZ are here, and there are no real benifits other than reviving the name of EZ, then i say it is a lot of work (plus an whole other site to pay for its up keep and security) for not huge gains.

The tone is different here that at lp101, and is similar to EZ, which is prob why a lot of people like it here and made the move. Its certainly why i like it here. so it would kinda be like doubling up. But, just my two pence.

I miss the Ez days. But I think Keypicking is a pretty good home. She may be Ez but if she got no soul I dont want her.

Re: Fighting For EZP!!

EZs data is still there. If you google ezpicking.com/forum/archives you can get anything that was on the site provided the links were still good. I have retrieved several things from the site that way. I guess it's like a backup. The actual site was hacked and I think that your interaction with the data is all that was compromised. I could be wrong because I am no expert but the above technique still works for me.

Re: Fighting For EZP!!

i appreciate you trying to help but as i said to you i am full administrator of EZP and have been through this several time before. The only person who can do anything about this currently is EZpicker. I have all the contact information i need and i am working on it.

And not to sound rude or anything but when EZP does come back up and running you can't just have "in" as you call it.

And even if you did take over the domain you wouldn't have the forum that was created. just a blank server.

but as i said i appreciate your trying to help but trust me i'm doing all i can at this stage.

Re: Fighting For EZP!!

Please don't misunderstand the I want in. I only meant that I love that forum and if they were going to let it die I would help out whomever in whatever way to get it back up and running even if I had to buy the rights. I was not trying to suggest otherwise and I apologise if it came across that way.

No problem at all mate. Honestly there's no need to appologize.

I appreciate you trying to help. It's obvious that your intentions are good and fair play to you for trying to do something about it.
