A great locksmith find!!

I just recieved in the mail from a friend of a freind that was a locksmith that was selling his business!! I got about 10 medeco locks with keys, tons of all types of schlage with keys, I also got a primus cylinder with 5 extra keys, ace locks, Sargeant locks, and tons more, all with keys!! he also gave me a brand new HPC plug spinner, and his HPC pick set with all his modified tools. AND two very very good locksmith training type books. You won't see me post on here for a while because I am going to be busy! But... I will need tips and advice for those medeco so stay tuned!

Re: A great locksmith find!!

a turning wire?? help me out with this, you have to understand, I do read the forum but, who the hell would ever think that all of a sudden those hard to get medeco's would just flood to me in the mail. I am going to need some input from ya! they are mostly what they look like is key in knob medeco's I just barely have enough room to get picks in, I have a very small profile rytan hook and diamond and they will fit, so I am going to try to use those, as soon as you tell me about this wire! i ALSO recieved two corbin bank teller locks today, already picked those, man what a blast, this is better than christmas! AND no!! no sale,,, not yet anyways, let me have my fun, then when I get broke we will talk.

He's referring to a Medecoder type tool. Refer to this discussion and you should understand: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=1268&hilit=medecoder

Try using top of keyway tension to gain some extra room. Also, if you don't have any experience with Medecos you might try picking it with the sidebar removed first just to build your confidence on the binding order. Once you have a feel for the lock put the sidebar back in and notice how it changes the feeling of a pin when it sets...not necessary but it really helped me with my first medecos.

Hope that helps a little. Keep the questions coming and keep us updated on your progress!
