Day 252 of 366. This lock made me struggle more than his relatives. I kept oversetting a pin and had to restart many times. More than I could count.

Good! That keeps it interesting. This weekend I bought some locks after quite some time. I got quite a few very new Mauer ** skg 6 pin locks, hoping for a challenge. Nope. Great manufacturing yes. Some spools in each but very easy to open. 2 gritty old Trelocks: horrible bitting and a nice pick. Very heavy tension was needed to open one of them. The core got stuck because of a dent in the body right at the end of the picking. It's not the easy ones that make this fun

Yes, it's not the easy ones, but sometimes we need one!

I'm still amazed at the amount of locks you can open with this one pick. I can open a lot with a medium hook, but there are plenty bittings and keyways that I need a thin pick or deeper hook for somthing in the back.
I should try my home made thin medium pick again. The southord standard slimline is too thick for some locks and the great SSDev set doesn't have that medium profile... hmm something for tomorrow
