Day 186 of 366. Old and rusty but still working fine. Got it without a key so I had to make one.

Cheers :)

Don't you just hate that? :D More ways to have fun with the same lock.

Day 188 of 366. The key profile combined with the bittings gave me some trouble. To be sure I was able to reach the last short pin, behind a long one, I decided to grab a hook. Less fun but open!

Cheers :)

Re: Happy 2020!

This is clearly on the edge of bearable. The decision must have haunted you since. Did you not have the time yet to make that specially crafted half diamond profile just for such occasions? That would teach such a lock better manners.

Re: Happy 2020!

Yes, I thought about making an half diamond shaped for these extreme bittings and keyways. It happens so rarely that I need it, that I haven't made one. But I will.

Day 189 of 366. Needed something easy. An old and beaten four pins yale did the trick.

Cheers :)

LOL Gordon...

Day 192 of 366. This cylinder is deformed, was probably thrown in the scrap bin before being salvaged. I had to use very strong tension, and then a screwdriver to turn the plug.
Yesterday I went to sleep without posting. Got saved by this "morning pick".

Cheers :)

Yeah, you can see the bend in the body opposite the bible. You might be able to file it a bit to make it operate smooth again. Looks like it received a blow.

Re: Happy 2020!

Yes, that's where it got hit. The cylinder was snapped and is ruined. Since it's a very common lock, I removed the pins and springs and trashed the rest.

Day 193 of 366. There was some glue or wax or chewing gum in this lock. Dumb feedback and almost stuck pins and plug. It took some tries to free it up and finally pick it.

Cheers :)
