Is that welka staying in position because of those slots on the side or is there also something else passing throught the body?

There's nothing under that lock body. Maybe it's balanced, maybe the pin chambers are somewhat helping it stay straight. Sometimes I had to use some tape, but not this time.

Holy cow, you were at LockCon 2018? Did we meet?

LOL edocdab, I completely missed the point. The cylinder does not rotate in the lock body thanks to the two square grooves on the sides. It also has a round groove under the cam, where euro profile cylinders have the screw hole, but it doesn't go trough. A screw goes in a few millimeters from the side and secure it in place.

YES Michael, we met and also traded a couple locks. IIRC I gave you a new ISEO F5 still in its blister and you gave me an AVA and a Lockwood maybe?

@edocdab - while I vividly remember the trade (!) I don't remember Femurat himself.

That's actually not as surprising as it sounds - LockCon is a VERY weird environment with some people (like me) very happy to use their full name and have images taken and published, other folks who do secret squirrel jobs wanting to be utterly incognito, and still others on the continuum in between those two extremes and wanting some degree of anonymity.

It's very likely that I would have been introduced to Femurat by someone using his real first name, and I never made the connection with his handle here.* The con is limited to 100 delegates which doesn't sound like a lot but unless someone was giving a presentation or did something particularly noteworthy** you might never speak to them the whole weekend.


*Also, I might have been drunk at the time and not remember. There was a lot of beer.

**Some of which, again, involved alcohol.
