Re: GUN LOVERS, CHECK THIS OUT.

Here in Colorado the waiting period is waived. I can take it home NOW! Also we have the Make My Day Law. If anyone is on my property and I believe they are going to commit a crime,I have the right to use lethal force. This also extends to protection of others, vehicle ,etc. You can get a concealed carry permit. As far as I am aware almost any state allows for carry as long as it's holstered in plain sight. I used to walk around New Hampshire with my .45 on my hip if it wasn't in the shoulder holster. NO ONE screws with you. Not even cops. They do look darn close though. Here in CO I can blast prairie dogs with any weapon at any time. I've killed hundreds. Great for marksmanship training. Just got to watch for rattlesnakes. I have a jar full of rattles. Always be aware!!

Re: GUN LOVERS, CHECK THIS OUT.

Thanks Hallischalmers

Quote "In Arizona, it is my understanding that to carry concealed, you need a license - but open carry requires nothing other than a holster."

"A handgun carried in a belt holster which is wholly or partially visible or carried in luggage is not considered carrying concealed."

Could you tell me why ( In the the eyes of the law) is it ok to open carry, is it to do with the suprise element ?

Thanks again for you very helpful respones.Im green with envie

FYI - KY is Kentucky.

As for the mentality of it being ok to carry in the open as opposed to concealed, I guess you have to go back to the origins of Arizona.

Arizona was/is the Wild Wild West and the gun culture is pretty much ingrained in the fine folks out there. A friend of mine lived in Arizona for several years and he said it was not uncommon to see people in a restaurant, sitting down, eating their meals...with a side arm in an open holster.

I guess their thinking is that if you carry openly, you are not a nefarious type up to no good, liable to shoot someone in the back, while someone carying concealed was a crook or trying to hide something.

The Concealed handgun license is proof that you are not a crook, but someone that has gone through the licensing process of proving he's not a turd.

I wish it was like that here in the Chicago suburbs. Where I am if some one hears you own a gun they ask you why.
