Re: What a deal !

Funny, I wonder where he dug up his facts?

Used to be an old good safe was 40 - 50 bucks on Craigslist. All it took was one fool to list at $500 and now every body wants that for some old piece of crap. That is how the owners of the National safe I have featured in another thread researched what they should ask for it. Looking on Craigslist they saw safes listed for $500 and decided that is what they should ask. Not realizing the difference in a manganese bank safe (especially an uncommon lug door National complete with time lock) from the square common safe, they shot themselves in the foot before they even got started. I didn't have the heart to low ball them but did do some minor haggling just for sport.

A guy has to look long and hard for deals now days. They do turn up however. I scored a mint set of exhaust pipes for a vintage 70's Kawasaki 500 triple this morning on the Milwaukee Craigslist. Luckily, I have a brother in law near by.
It is time... stand up for a constitutional America. Without it, we have shed blood in vain.

Re: What a deal !

Also a very interesting deal: https://www.ebay.com/itm/302461880998

It is probably a good safe. I guess it weighs around 3000 to 4000 pounds. No combination and no key. The combination lock can probably be manipulated, but the options with the (probably present) key lock (behind a fake combination dial) are not as good. Get a specialist to decode the lock or a not as much specialist to drill it open. My guess is that there is a pork pie inside where you have only the option to hunt for a used lock which fits or buy one new for USD 600.

In case all this is to much effort you can follow the recommendations of the seller: "It can be newly painted and used as decoration." Great! So in case you have in a room with a solid floor 15 sq.feet to much floor space, just put the safe there!

Re: What a deal !

This is practically a steal: https://m.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzei ... 4-250-5953

And btw. the seller writes, that he doesn't have the key for this safe. What he doesn't write is, that he doesn't have the lock for the safe.
