Waterless

Woke up this morn and NO water. Schools and businesses closed. Both city water towers are empty and city maintenance doesn't know where it went. I live 100 feet from the northside tower. Surrounded by lakes and rivers but no municipal water.

That sucks. Many years ago, here in Italy it happened a lot.
In my old grandma's house there's a big tank up in the roof. It used to be filled when there was water, to be stored and used when there wasn't.
Nowadays nobody has them anymore.

Sounds like stand pipe times - remember back in the 70,s standing at them ... those metal buckets where heavy lol :smile:

Well, after some problem solving, the city crew discovered a burst end cap on a pipe near the local hospital. The water had drained into nearby Apple River. All systems GO.

Oh how quickly society starts to crumble when their life essentials that were once taken for granted are no longer available.
