WEST COAST ANTIQUE LOCK SHOW

I'm thinking about going. It's an hour's drive from me. Feb. 11th.

Re: WEST COAST ANTIQUE LOCK SHOW

I met Doug. The guy who makes customs trick padlocks. He moved out of Ventura, CA and now lives up near Sacramento. He was the most interesting person to talk to and I felt I had more in common with him. The room was small, and there wasn't more than 35 people in the room at one time. There was a lot of padlocks for sale, but many seemed like seconds (maybe collector's seconds). There was one table with some cool cut-a-ways (modern made stuff on old locks). And, the really cool padlocks were way out of my price range. And, there was Jerry Slocum, puzzle collector with seventeen books behind his name. His latest book was on some ancient Roman puzzle lock.

It seemed like many of the people there were locksmiths/collectors. Some guys had good historical knowledge. Everyone was friendly. I'll have to make the Lancaster show next year.

Re: WEST COAST ANTIQUE LOCK SHOW

thanks for the feedback on the west coast show.

the Lancaster show is awesome, you should definitely go. I'll be there again and it's gonna be sweet this year cause they got a new venue.
