Re: Desk top art

I'm glad you all enjoy them as much as I do, and I'm sorry, but none are for sale. They're a labor of love and something I enjoy fiddling with, but I really like displaying them on my own shelves. Mark

Re: Desk top art

Awesome!
Even though they are only nuts, bolts and cotter pins, they really convey their thoughts and feelings.
I really don't know how you captured these expressions, but, they really seem emotionally charged, moving.

Love 'em!

Re: Desk top art

Had a little extra time this weekend, so I decided to make another desk top art project. This one I call "Combo Rocker". Hope you enjoy.

HAHA! These are fantastic! Especially your latest one... brilliant.

I REALLY like 'em. Thanks for sharing some pics of each one.

What are you using for the base/floor?
Something you've repurposed? Or
are you making those as well?

Re: Desk top art

One of the local manufacturers had a bin full of scraps they donated to our local schools welding department. There must have been a couple hundred of those disks, so I grabbed a handful, with the schools permission of course.

Re: Desk top art

Here is another one I made for my little brother, who is also my riding partner. it doesn't have any locks or lock theme, but he has a garage full of bicycles and one of his favorites is a fat tire mountain bike. The last couple times we went out trail riding, we spent more time fixing his flats than riding, so I present "Big Fat Flat""

I like the bike one man, 25 years ago when mounting biking started ( ? ) ! We would race thtouhg the city FAST and if some one got a flat from a curb hit we would time how long it took to fix it, new tube or a patch ,, it was kind of fun

Re: Desk top art

I'm working on another art project now, but not real sure when I'll get it done. My wife just had a total hip replacement, so I'm spending most of my time around home helping her and less time in the shop. I'll post it when I get it done. I'm glad you all enjoy the art. Mark

Here's my version of the Safe Cracker. I used an old padlock, some scrap metal, a couple of kwikset allen wrenches, and an Adams Rite dogging key.

Congratulations from me and my girlfriend. We agree the little men are very expressive. A work of art.

Cheers :)
