ID this please

My hunch it is an early steering column/ ignition collar from the 50s ? (or before ?) with an alarm of some type. Anyone.......anyone. Click to pics 35 and 36.

Re: ID this please

I'd guess, by the shape and size of it, it's an early "tire boot".... just my 2 cents.

Re: ID this please

It was a wheel lock. You lock it on the wheel, and it can only turn so far before encountering the ground.

When it comes to locks, Keypick can be quicker and more accurate. :)

Only knew about that lock because an instructor at the Honda training center in Denver had one that he showed me.

Re: ID this please

I did, and do have a picture of the keyway, but would require a lot of digging through my photos to find it. May take a while.

Re: ID this please

Nice old lock Bitbuster ans one that fits into my idea for niche collecting (automobile/accessory locking mechanisms) as my collecting is all over the place and getting a bit excessive. Hopefully when I get back to work after the seasonal slump I'll start buying such items.

I'm getting way ahead of myself. The auction hasn't occurred yet and I'm only speculating that I will be the winning bidder.
