Mechanical Locks

Hey, I'm a Noob on this site but I have read a little into picking, shimming and other ways of getting past locks, and have broken into my house on various occasions.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to pick a mechanical lock like the ones on this website? http://www.codelocks.us/mechanical-locks.html
My brother basically found out how to get past locks with a computer port of some sort, but none of these seem to have one. Any ideas guys?

Thanks,
Remus25

Re: Mechanical Locks

I dont have any hands on time with that brand but most of those locks work on a selinoid. Once you figure out if its vertical or horizontal you can move the selinoid by striking the body with a rubber malet. The ealier and poorly installed locks have enough space to slide a slim metal wrench between the door and the lock mount to turn the knob after the actuator. The wrench type depends on the lock but its usually a square cut or hooked end.

Re: Mechanical Locks

The Code-Locks don't use a solinoid, they are all mechanical. Very like an old egyptian lock, with pegs, you don't know if you are locking one digit or unlocking it , when you depress it. I haven't re-coded one in years, but you can use 4,5 or 6 numbers as a code, if I remember right several of the keys, which are lettered are not normally used. They are much like the Supra keybox pushbutton lock, as you can not re-use any digit for your code, & enter the codes in any order.

I think you could learn a lot from reading the code change procedures and I'm not being sarcastic because I am turning over a new leaf, you see.

Re: Mechanical Locks

Mmm... I was wondering whether this was a country-specific spelling like, y'know, colour, 'color', aluminium, 'aluminum', swede, 'rutabaga' and so on...

Maybe not. It's solenoid, from the French solénoïde, derived in turn from the Greek solen, ''pipe, channel'' + combining form of Greek eidos ''form, shape.'' Thanks, Wikipedia!

So now you know. : )

Re: Mechanical Locks

I'm not always a good speeler, some say catsup, or is it ketchup?
Still, I never saw a mechanical lock with an electrical part inside that depends on an electrical current to operate :D

http://www.codelocks.us/how-to-program.html
I discovered the 4,5 or 6 button presses required, after reading the programming instructions above. I think there is likely much more good info in the instructions, if you can get through it.

Neither, it's tomato sauce. :)

Aaand no. No, you're right. The OP's question seems a little suspect to me. Still, that's down to the mods to decide. Not my business.

Re: Mechanical Locks

I like the spy cam with the tel-photo lens.
Set it up and film everyone that enters the code.

Or just trying random number combos until it opens.(This may take a while.)

If this lock belongs to your brother or someone you know.......try using the numbers in their Birthday.

Oh and of course the default codes.
0000
1111
1234

So whose lock is it anyways?
You should never attempt to unlock a lock that you do not have permission to open!
Stay legal.

Re: Mechanical Locks

I think I am right in saying you can use 1 or all of the numbers/letters on the keypad, they can only be entered once and can also be entered in any order.

Re: Mechanical Locks

Think you're right.(Huxleypig) Numbers can't be repeated.
Was confused with digital key pads used for access control.
The ones you find to get into parking areas and private gated communities.
Thanks for the correction.

Oh and another way I use often is to look over the shoulder of some one that knows it.
Slip in as someone leaves and before the door shuts.
Ask the pizza delivery man for the code.......they always know it.
Knock on the door.
