Straight in from the front , had to wiggle lots and put a small curve in the tip !

Nozza, do you mean to say you gave one end of the shim a bit of a point to work your way over the lip that's around around the edge of plug?

Gringo, I think hes talking about sliding the shim alongside the key to press back some tumblers in the bottom of the keyway.

The flange on the front of the plug is not part of the problem.

Gringo , i slid the shim under the bottom edge of the key (remember it was rotated 180) that pushed up the drivers so i could rotate the plug back to the closed position and the broken half of the key was easy to remove , it almost fell out when i tilted it , lol
