Mul-T-Lock Interactive disassembly pics

Here's my Mul T Lock Interactive; disassembled for the benefit of people's picking and curiosity.

Image

This is a mortice model so just unscrewed the back and slipped the plug out. First thing i noticed was a row of holes on the right hand side of the plug, one of them containing a tiny ball bearing.
Image

Image

I think it must be for ani-drilling because there are also corresponding holes in the hull, but the ball doesn't fit in these.
Image

The plug and lower pins:
Image

Four of the lower pins have a small serration, and one is even an inverted mushroom. The second pin from the left is the one the interactive pin..err..interacts with.
Image

All the interior lower pins on their own:
Image

All the upper pins, 4 'shrooms and one regular:
Image

A close up of the first and second upper pins:
Image

And here is the spring loaded pin at the bottom of the keyway that pushes up the floating pin (or interactive pin i guess) in the key:
Image

Another shot:
Image

And with the key inserted:
Image

I think this is just for key control becuase as you can see in the next two photos, the pin in the bottom of the keyway...
Image

...and at the bottom of the plug, you can see the pins doesn't protrude into the hull at all.
Image

And here's the upper pins holes:

Hope this helps people. I'm pretty sure the interactive pin is anti-bumping and/or key control. I cant see a way it would prevent the plug turning at all if all the pins were set to the sheer line. Just worry about those mushrooms! They give a killer false set.

Re: Mul-T-Lock Interactive disassembly pics

Hope this helps people. I'm pretty sure the interactive pin is anti-bumping and/or key control. I cant see a way it would prevent the plug turning at all if all the pins were set to the sheer line. Just worry about those mushrooms! They give a killer false set.

To clarify what that pin in the bottom of the plug does:
Yes it is just for key control, it pushes the pin in the key UP.
That means that without a pin like this in a molded key it would never push the second chamber to the correct height.
If the molded key had the protruding cut that it requires to push the second chamber pins up it would never fit into the keyway because the bump would stop it from going in.
That is why clam kits don't work on Mul-T-Lock interactive. These keys are the most difficult to duplicate, so difficult that it's easier to rob a locksmith instead of making one yourself.

Re: Mul-T-Lock Interactive disassembly pics

What are the rules on selling locks here? because I am an authorized mul-t-lock dealer, and I would be more then happy to supply the forum with discounted mul-t-lock products.
