Removal of Padlock Shackle

I got given a Lockwood 234/45, with an interchangable core, been good fun, just wondering how one would go about removing the shackle? There's a small hole at the bottom, I put a screwdriver in it but couldn't feel anything, I assumed it was just for oil.

Any ideas?

Re: Removal of Padlock Shackle

I have no experience with Lockwoods. If they are anything like the Abus padlock the back end of the cylinder turns a cam inside the lock. Turning that cam either too far, or in the opposite direction (with the cylinder out) will release the shackle.

Thanks Bezza,
I've just checked, it's a 234/45, not the 234B/45.

If you have time to make a video that would be great, I've been Googling to no avail except for seeing a jig that does it on some padlocks.
