What is a False set and Counter Rotation

I'm guessing this video is aimed at people like me who are very new to this, if that's the case I have to say it really doesnt explain what a false set or a set is at all, just what will happen and what it feels like.
Lucky from reading and watching other videos i know what he's talking about. However if i didn't this vid would probably confuse me even more, I'd be like "right and can see it moving and i know it's in a false set because he say's it is, but what the hell is a false set??"

Good vid if you understand the workings already as it will show you what to look for, but could maybe do with a little bit more of an explaination of whats going on inside, also is there some sort of auto focus on the camara as it goes out of focus when your thumb moves into the center of the picture?

Simple concept really. A false set is when the THIN part of a spool pin catches on the shear line. The plug rotates slightly - but you've actually MISSED the shear line.

In other words, it's the impression that you think you are in the tiny area BETWEEN the BOTTOM of the spool and the TOP of the key pin - when in reality, there is half of the spool pin still below the shear line - blocking complete rotation of the plug.

You think you have set the pin - but you haven't. False Set. Get it? The spool pin has moved just enough to wedge the THIN part of the spool pin between the plug and bible, allowing only a slight turn of the plug.
