MIT lockpicking guide

Damn that makes good reading   . I was struggling with the Era 5pin cylinder lock for the last couple of days. Was getting absolutely no-where with it, wasnt getting a lot of feedback through the pick and found it very tight to get my pick in there.

So having a nose around lastnight and saw the MIT guide and had a quick read through................5 minutes later "PING" ......Era now openned ;) .
Well worth reading and very well explained. My problem was i was just going in with the pick and randomly pushing up pins, now this did work on the Rolson padlock but wasnt working on the Era cylinder.

So when i finnished reading i got the lock and done it word for word as the guide said and bingo. Now i know a lot will say that i should have read it first anyway, but when i got lucky with the padlock i got a bit too big for me boots.

So to anyone like myself, who is new to picking i would definately recommend reading this guide ....it rocks :P :P . And just to be sure it wasnt luck spp the era 5-6 times in succession.

New lock for me is a Master 2250D padlock rated 7 on the pack ...........now wheres me pick :D :D :D

Re: MIT lockpicking guide

It's a top guide.
It's the first "how to" I ever read and the first thing i recommend any new picker's should read.
Keep a copy handy, it's always great for a refresher.

Re: MIT lockpicking guide

Here is what many consider a much better guide than the Mit guide that is also 100% free and legal to share.

A lot of people have learned from the mit guide but it does have some problems with it.
