Master #3 or.. What the bloody hell is wrong with me?

Yo...

So, here's the scoop.. I now have several of these, and on ALL of them, I can only consistently pick them CCW, and usually quickly. But I just can barely ever get them to open CW? Am I just a bloody fool or something? I understand that they often are easier CCW, but geeze, I can open my brinks and kryptonite padlocks no prob, and the schlage and sargent cylinders I have, so I don't think I'm a total dope. But, it's jsut like WTF? These damn things are supposed to be stupid easy, and they are CCW... What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Nothing wrong with you. Happened to me all the time. I had 2 worn Master 3's that did that to me constantly.

I just didn't dwell on it and made a mental note that if I ever ran into a similar situation w/ any other Master 3, I'd pick it CCW.

Trust me, if you really NEED to pick a Master 3 - it sure as hell isn't going to matter whether you did it CW, CCW or standing on your head - as long as it opened.

It didn't matter to Houdini which way he manipulated the lock when he was submerged under water - he just wanted it open. Know what I mean?

Yeah, I get that... it's just frustrating that's all, and all three that I have are brand spankin new too, so it's not due to wear. I guess they're just wonky that way sometimes. At first I'd just figured it was the one that was being goony on me, but then when I'd gotten a couple more, it seemed worth asking about yet again.

I'm definitely not trusting anything I care about to one that's for sure! I also got rid of the kwikset and weiser deadbolts that came with my house too! Well, not totally rid of them, I still have them but they sure as hell aren't installed. They both open frighteningly easy... really kinda freaked me out how easy they were! It sure is an eye opening hobby.

Thanks though I feel a little better about it now.

Lots of Master locks open easier this way, "the laminated series" It has to do with the tolerances, I have ran into this as well. They are just a cheap lock. And not to sound like an echo, but although the Master Commercial don't pick CCW that is the only difference, they are just the same cylinder and they are easy as well.
I have been in the souls of many women, but I always end up on the soles of there shoes.
