Need advice for cleaning a 1982 A700

I came across a $4 1982 (Date code ZGM) American 700 :padlock: that would not lock at all, but after WD-40, taking apart and cleaning, it' works great.
The only issue is, the shackle is pined in so I can't remove it to clean out the rust in that side. It Ooozes rusty WD-40 now (Odd description but apt).

Any advice in cleaning it would be appreciated. One I get tweezers, I'll gut it to see if it has security pins.

Thanks!

can you see the pin?
I thought the ball bearings hold them in.
$4 lock, might not be worth your time as I can buy them new for $8 in my currency = $4 in yours.

non chlorinated brake cleaner. just a few bucks at parts store
macgng; it's completely unnecessary to have ~15$ in keys for a 50¢ lock ... but we all do it anyway :P

Yes princess auto is harbor freight so Im afraid the gent is mixing a real $700 with a cheap knock off copy. Even deals dont get $8 per 700.

Give it a bath in anything with rust removing. But as long as its a bath. Penetrating oils are especially good. If you deal with rust often then invest in Metal Rescue. Its a water based solution which works wonders. Youtube it. I have in the past used vinegar on rust seized locks with good results only thing is you must be careful because it can start to eat the good metal parts.

Not sure if Home Depot has it but you can order it. Its actually well priced. The best part is that its water based so no nasty smell, no need for gloves, no worries of slips etc.

Home Depot in Westbury had it and it *REALLY* works well!
