If one particular pin wasnt setting then it probably wasnt the binding pin in your picking order. I really doesnt take much tension. Remember a couple of coins. Do like I said and go out and get you a master 3 with a key that has easy bitting. That will really boost your confidence and give you a feel for what is going on inside the lock. At the very least you should be able to rake open a lock with easy bitting. But Easy on the Tension!! It's hard to "feel" and visualize what is going on inside the lock when everything is all binded up.

I visualize my pick as an extension of my finger - and the pins as needles or straight pins.

How much pressure would you exert with your fingertip on the tip of a needle?
