Nice! When you get to the point where you can open half your locks with just a look head on over to the buy/sell/trade forum.

Take it easy

Great GREAT start! I nice wide variety too.

Try and find a room in the house and claim it as you're own as
soon as possible. You're going to need it quicker than you think ;)

Nice. Whats the story on the silver round lock in the center just above the Master 140? Hitch lock? Maybe a telephone dial lock?

Re: dephs starter collection

thanks for the props guys. and harvee im not quite sure what that lock came out of. I had a buddy give it to me. Its 3 pins and when you pick it and turn it 90 degrees, it locks again and you have to pick it backwards to get it back. It pushes in kinda like a old car door lock when its horizontal but when its vertical going by the flat part on the housing its fixed and wont push in. Maybe a close up view will help someone help me figure out what it is.

Re: dephs starter collection

The locks that push in to lock, and pop out to unlock are frequently used on display cases. My dad used to have a roll-top desk that was 'secured' with a similar lock.

He thought that if it had a lock and I had no key, I could not get into it. Could bypass that lock on his desk faster than he could open it with a key. He didn't know that until I was in my twenties and visiting home, and he could not find the key, but needed into the desk. Took me less than two seconds to open it. He asked how long I have known how to do that. 'Since I was about 9 or 10'.

That little lock looks like a glove box lock off a older car

I do. He may be under 10 years old, but can pick a Kwikset in under 15 seconds. Therefore, have an ABLOY on the closet he is not to get into. :soldier: Have joked to my wife about adding a Motura pump-key lock from Italy (designed for heavy duty front doors) on the closet, but my wife won't let me.
