The humble beginnings of my collection

Since I have recently started picking my collection is not too much, but I'm going to post what i have so I can watch as it evolves over time.

This is an overview my the collection i currently have, nothing fancy. I dont have a closer shot of the brinks in the middle but its decently visible here.

On this side i have 2 more Tubelites, 1 marks, 1 Kawneer and one lock with no brand on it. And a american 100th anniversary padlock in the back.

Nice collection dude!

You'll see it grow in no time!
The 100th Aniversary American Padlock looks really cool!
Any differences to the regular ones, except the carving of the 100th on the body?

Thanks for sharing!

As far as i know i don't think there are any difference, just the commemorative stamp in the body, but I may be wrong.

Very nice start. You're even rocking a Sparrows pinning mat. Keep it up and you'll need a giant vault for your locks ;]

Re: The humble beginnings of my collection

Nice collection.

Some of these locks I'd love to have. :D

My collection started off at ONE and grew into an obsession but still limited In what I can acquire at a reasonable price.

I used to look on ebay a lot but once the postage is factored in - kills it.

Very nice start though. Like Xeo said. you'll need a very big safe soon.

Question: Have you opened them all or are there some that are still putting up a fight??

Cheers.

Remember that to anyone not from North America your locks are "foreign" (and vice-versa). When I first started I did trades for locks just like yours for locks which were ordinary for me. You have a good start.

well most of them I have had only a couple days, i have managed to open both the unbranded padlock and deadbolt, as well as the m15 and one of the marks locks. The defiant has also been opened. Ive opened several master 3;s and low end brinks locks in the past but have given them away since.

Re: The humble beginnings of my collection

Well, went and checked the mail today... of course i had some locks waiting on me. I have found that i like the look of old padlocks, they are pretty cool. My latest addition, L to R. Master no 7, Victory lock (warded keyway), arrow assa abloy (picked within 10 seconds of opening the box),Master no 3, and an eagle (appears to be a wafer lock?) i got these mostly for the Eagle and Victory, i like the look.

Great start! That's a fine group of locks. Great photos too.

And yeah, just something about a good old lock, eh?

Re: The humble beginnings of my collection

The mail box once again held some locks for me today, these are my newest additions. L to R we have a warded Fraim lock, then a Mico 5 pin (already picked) and a Fraim 5 disc cylinder lock. The old fraims are kinda nifty.

Well didnt get to check the mailbox yesterday, but today i discovered i had a few more packages awaiting me. and i also acquired a few padlocks from work with cut bolts.

First off of the 3 padlocks i recieved, just some locks to kill time, might cut one open, idk yet, but we have a guard, a brinks, and master lock.
