The Un-opened (contribute your pictures)

Below are the locks that I am (currently) unable to pick open. While I have had limited success, it is very, very rare for me to open a lock on the first try.
It must be the tools I'm using... :bs:
...and that damn Brinks always giving me a false set, "got it! No I didn't, awwwwww."

I encourage everyone to post a picture of their defiant locks.
Take it easy

Re: The Un-opened (contribute your pictures)

The number of unopened locks I own has increased slightly.

I recently received a box full of padlocks and, to my great surprise and pleasure, enjoyed an incredible spate of opening success. I tried to parlay that success into opening the brass Brinks that is just...right...above...my skill level. But the Brinks remains defiant. And all picking skills have left me for the time being. Oh, well.

Thanks for stopping by and take it easy :hbg:

Re: The Un-opened (contribute your pictures)

That one with the blue band that says 'security' is from Harbor Freight. Do not use very much tension on it. That is for two reasons - it picks easier that way, and the shell of the lock cylinder is plastic.

Image

It even has spool pins. Well, sort of...

Image

They almost look melted, and do not have the sharply defined edges we come to expect from spools. Suspect that is to prevent the spools from tearing up the plastic shell.

How do I know this? Easy.

Everest - use a tension wrench to lift the pin in the overhang, then the rest of the lock picks as a normal Schoage. ;-)

Re: The Un-opened (contribute your pictures)

I can make no progress on this double-sided wafer lock. I can pick at it for ages, then when I release tension and count the number of pins that drop... zero! There's obviously something I don't get here.

My bet is:

1. Elzett X-11
2. Mul-T-Lock MT5
3. ABLOY Classic
4. Corbin Emhart - be ready to disassemble it once you have picked it. You will be likely to turn it back.
5. BiLock
6. KABA 20
7. Schlage Primus
8. ASSA Twin 6000
9. KABA Expert
10. EVVA MCS

That's the order I think you will get them.

BiLock first than the Primus???

Thought the BiLock was harder than the Primus... Not sure though!
Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise.

I was considering the bitting on the Primus, and the fact that the finger pins on a Primus need to be lifted and rotated.

@Oldfast - the raw footage was Lockcracker's. (Not going to bother with the numbers instead of letters in his user name).
