Re: FGarci03's Locks

This AGC has a fun story.
Here in Portugal, there is a tradition called "Queima das Fitas" (Bruning of the Ribbons). You can see it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queima_das_Fitas.

In the city I live in, it's done on a closed space (a big one) with dozens of small tents for universities to sell drinks and make some money.
The organization that holds this event provides them with wood and tools to build the tents and also locks.

Apparently, all the locks are keyed ALIKE, and my cousin asked me to lend him a lock so no one could enter his college's tent.
They eventually forgot the lock was mine (it was a cheap one, no problem) and returned it to the organization.

So to make it up to me, they gave me this one. Next year I'll check if the locks are still the same!

I'm happy they "screwed it up"

Re: FGarci03's Locks

evva dps side bar can not be ignored as the barrel or core will lock up on full rotation when picked ! not passive at all acts like a trap pin on the side bar until its picked

for your information !! that's why if the locks bumped... your stuffed you will not get the key back out as it will lock up ! not passive active on contact with side bar

Re: FGarci03's Locks

Do you mean it is active when the sidebar lines up with the driver pins? I just used my pick to push the sidebar enough to push the driver pins back into the bible, and it did not take much at all. Maybe I am misunderstanding?

This is the side bar when this makes contact with the driver pin unless depressed or picked core will not turn !!

Re: FGarci03's Locks

I got 4 beautiful locks in the mail today from l0ckcr4ck3r.

First, a KABA Micro: http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#37

A KABA Expert: http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#38

MARKS Hi-Security (a pin tumbler with sliders, very, very cool!): http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#39

And finally, a Schlage Primus: http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#40

Hope you enjoy them as I did!
Managed to pick the Micro pretty fast:

Still not the others. The Marks doesn't seem too far away to succeeding, but no luck yet. Will keep trying

Re: FGarci03's Locks

After a good while, I got some more new fun

Master Padlock M530 : http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#39

BEST SFIC: http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#40

Yale LFIC: http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#41

One my favourites, been tracking one down for a LONG time - Russwin Emhart: http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#42

Citroen Simplex: http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#43

Ford Tibbe: http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#44

Winfield Bycentric Hotel Lock (the only one in my permanent collection for which I don't have a key!): http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#45

Fichet 487S: http://imgur.com/a/TJ5m9#46
I found it hard to identify if this was the S or Z. Been told both versions... But in the end, I looked inside the keyway and it only had 8 levers, not 10. So I settled with an S

Hope you enjoy :hbg:

Re: FGarci03's Locks

Well, just realized that when I remove images from this collection, the links update them selves, so many times the link may not match it's lock. But you can always get to it by scrolling the images

Ooooo! I've yet to get my hands on one! Congrats on ALL the exciting additions.

And thanks for at least letting us look, lol. Also, with that Master, I can't help
but wonder what Gordon has in store for you! Do share when you get to it, eh?

Thanks. They were fun to make. Up close, this is the longer key pin. The shorter one was the same, just with steeper angles.

Image

With the sharp angle where the key pin meets the driver, they love to catch if you over lift them at all. Was tempted to countermill the pin channels in the plug, too, but did not want to be too mean. :D
