Re: The MrAnybody Collection

:spinning: Gotta share: Mail man brought me another 2 more pieces of lock porn from the French FTH Thirard 'Optimum' range:

FTH Thirard Atlantic M: with 2 mobile pins and the usual anti-everything. Here's a marketing pdf in English.

FTH Thirard Cobra M: a gorgeous pump lock with a mobile push pin in the tip of the key. I've been after this puppy for a while now. Can't. Resist. A. Push. Lock. An English marketing pdf on that too.

Here's my original post with link to the collection ..... enjoy, enjoy .....

Nice locks! That Atlantic looks as if it has two rows if dimples, but only one set is lined up with the center of the bible. Is the second row passive?

That Cobra is a fun pick, too!

Thanks, Gordon.

Both rows are active. It's got six pairs of pins, 8 control pins, along with the 2 pins to correspond with the 2 mobile elements in the key. The 2 mobile pins are passive.

Did you get to pick the Cobra. Really cool if you did. How'd you tension?

Yes, it actually is not that bad. You can see the active rod is off center on the left side...

Used a music wire tension wrench and poker.

Re: The MrAnybody Collection

I got a lock very similar to the cobra and it isn't too hard to pick. The problem comes from tensioning it, on the one I got there is no bit of the key that only drives the lock - it has 5 pins and the cuts for those pins are what drives the lock round.

Re: The MrAnybody Collection

Wanna share some more luscious locks I've recently been able to add to the collection.

ASSA Ruko 2 Padlock with a 7 pin ASSA cylinder. Here's the keyway.
It's got the exact pins shown in Han Fey's cutaway article on Assa locks. Really insane pins. I'll gut it some time soon.

Evva Dual euro cylinder (Double Code System).
With it's gorgeous symmetric reversible key. The key is split into 2 separate bittings for the left and right side of the lock (12 sliders) operating 2 sidebars. Sliders = no shearline, so therefore bump proof.

Corbin Russwin Emhart mortise cylinder.
Lockwiki article here

Winkhaus vs5 mortise cylinder.
With passive locking pins on both sides of the cylinder / key. Usually with 2 inverted spools, 1 normal spool and 2 regular pins.

Maxis M118-AR mortise cylinder.
Really unique key. LSA has a nice pick and gut vid on this puppy.

Maxis K001 KiK. See above.

Abus Ti80/50 Padlock with 6 pin cylinder. Keyway here.

Here's my original post with link to the whole collection ..... enjoy, enjoy ..... :hbg:

Re: The MrAnybody Collection

Here's two locks I've seriously wanted in my hands for sooooo long now. Finally, they've arrived. Now I've just gotta find a pick strong enough for these beautiful little puppies ...... well, perhaps "little" is not the right word in this case.

Medeco Biaxial Mogul Mortise Cylinder. A 6 pin monster with restricted keyway.

RR Brink Mogul Mortise Cylinder with a key for each shearline.

My big appreciation to mech for making me a very happy bunny.

And there's something else I'm just as excited about now having in my hands, even though it's a TOTAL finger print magnet. Can't wait to start work on picking this: Trioving 5653 padlock with a Trioving SEC cylinder. Here's the keyway

Plus, a Abus TSB 5000 with such a gorgeous keyway.

Enjoy, enjoy.

Re: The MrAnybody Collection

Yes, the Tantal can be picked. But it has a twisty keyway that can be a bit difficult. It is the same lock cylinder as used in the LOB Granite. Some of those Polish locks are quite interesting.

:D Yep, totally love the Moguls :D It took me more than a few months of enquiries to the previous owner before he was ready to deal. But we both came out of it very happy in the end :D

Many thanks for your kind words and encouragement, oldfast. It's a pleasure to share them. Knowing I'm amongst people who really enjoy this sort of thing makes all the difference, in my opinion. Most of the additions came from the guys here on the forum. Words really can't go far enough to say how being a part of the KP community is simply the best thing for my love of locks.

I'd seen your wonderful post on the RR Brink. Yours looks practically brand new; a real pleasure to see. Make me slightly jealous seeing 'em like that, though

Without doubt, I'm totally lusting after a Folger Adams and a ASSA V-10 to add to the moguls I have. I'm definitely not going to rest until those two are in my hands, for sure :D ..... but there seems to be limitless gorgeous locks out there I'd just love to get my hands on and pick ..... eventually.

Anyhow, just wanna take a moment to say a huge thanks to all the guys that help me along the way so far. I couldn't wish for more with regards to a totally cool community to be a part of.

I haven't tried yet. But as Gordon says it a real twister of a keyway, and a real challenge. I couldn't get a lot of light to show the keyway well without lots of nasty reflection, but I think you can see it good enough.

Getting past that low cut 2nd pin is also gonna be fun :D I'll put it further up my list to-do now you've mentioned it.
