I needed a big vice to impression a key for this big padlock, so I screwed a vice on the table top :mrgreen:

I only had one blank, so I took my time and smoothed the cuts with sandpaper after filing down each mark. It took me a couple of hours but looks nice to me, and more important, works like a charm.

nice job! the key looks great. i never thought of sanding the key after filing, i will have to try that.

I'm impressed you got a fine workstation mine is in a dirty spider ridden basement but I wouldn't trade it for anything . There's somthing about your own spot and tools that warms the heart .

Well maybe if you gave that spider a nice bath, they wouldn't be so dirty. :mrgreen:
