femurat's locks

I'm trying to organize my little work-space and lock collection.
I've painted and framed a 90 cm x 60 cm pegboard to hang my padlocks on the wall.
I'm working on a small and simple cabinet for my safe locks. I've cut the wood, drilled the dowel holes and gave a light white paint layer. I hope to post pictures soon.
I keep the cylinders in plastic boxes but some of them are in small plywood ikea drawers.

Cheers :)

Here are a couple of pictures of the framed peg board. I hanged a few padlocks I had handy just to see how it look like. I still need to organize them.
You can see the cylinders drawers on the bottom right corner.

And this is the safe lock display: the paint is drying.

Femurat,

Second row, lock furthest to the left. What kind of lock is that? And do you have a key to show? The lock looks unusual.

Re: femurat's locks

It's a nice and small MOW (Ministry Of Work) padlock. I made a topic about it on another forum some time ago. I still need to make a key for it... but it's not easy

Cheers :)

Re: femurat's locks

Found it. Simple, yet effective. I like it. Darn it, now there's ANOTHER lock I want! does this never end?

Have you tried making the end of the movable element oval shaped so just pushing it into the lock causes it to pivot? Or possibly drill a tiny hole below the fulcrum of the movable element, and using a piece of guitar wire to actuate it?

Re: femurat's locks

No Gordon, it never ends...

I may try that guitar string trick, but my first concern is not to get stuck inside the padlock. I prefer the oval shape idea. I'll keep you updated when and if I ever manage to do that.

Cheers :)

Re: femurat's locks

Found one of those M.O.W. locks on eBay. Give it a few weeks to get here, and will see how long it takes to figure out a key. That other write-up helps to understand it.
