Rule of thumb.... right off the bat, I might as well just double my estimated expense for a project.

The rule at my job is you first estimate the time, cost, and trips to the hardware store. Then triple it. So far it's been fairly accurate.

What organization? It looks worse than it is though and it's not all personal. Some locksmith that worked here before I did crapped up a bunch of American lock cylinders, and there were a bunch that were locked up with no keys so I've been picking them open to make them usable to key up.

I almost bought a plastic organizer that would hold mortise and rim cylinders but that was $20 and I was frustrated after putting all the hardware away for my project so I didn't buy it.

I store my locks and keys in an old tackle box. As my collection grows, I'll probably start looking at something more...suitable.
