Laporte's locks!

My collection is slowly growing. By and large, it's fairly unremarkable, but I just had to share this lock that came my way. It is a railroad lock, generously given to me by a friend of mine.

I wonder how long it will take before I can pick it? Heh.

(Not sure if these photos uploaded or not, I can't see them on the preview. I tried to attach them directly but keep getting a message saying the image is invalid. Sorry if this post is all messed up! Further, if it is, and mods can fix it, I would be grateful.)

It's already started, HK.

I would rather get locks than flowers anyways. Flowers die. Locks are forever.

Well, forever unless I decide to take the lock apart. After that, it's not a lock per se, but a bunch of springs, pins and scrap metal. (I am working on changing that sorry state of affairs!)

I do think that this is a pretty sick lock, though! Even if I never pick it, it's a beautiful addition to my collection.

Re: Laporte's locks!

Do you only date men with Medecos on their front door?

Sorry this seemed like an appropriate time to drop some kind of lock joke.

The code is hidden in the tumblers. One position opens the lock, another position opens one of these doors...

Re: Laporte's locks!

Recently got a PL350 off eBay for $31. Then a more beaten PL330 for about the same price. The 350 is a very impressive lock. Heavy and intimidating.

Oh Laporte why have you forsaken us?

(I've just finished a bottle of red wine and am feeling sort of poetic but I will refrain  )
