Thanks me too. My wife thinks it is stupid but I want my daughter to inherit some cool padlocks when I croak. I think she would like them. She's only 3 now but seems really interested in locks and picking. The miracle lock is definitely a keeper.

I Zeiss Ikon R10? I have one... I've picked the sliders, and I've picked the pins/interactive element... but only separately -- never when both were in the lock.

Yep slid a pick in there finally. Ridiculous!

Haven't been buying much lately, been buying tools. I have recently bought a DUO NIB after I missed out on an awesome eBay deal, a new BEST 7 pin padlock with WY keyway, and a Fichet core. No outer housing for the core unfortunately, but still a fascinating lock!

I thought hard about that Fichet core but I wasn't sure wwhere I would get a proper housing from. I also picked up 2 Duo mortise cylinders and took one apart....but couldn't get the damn thing back together. There aren't any channels for the springs so I was confused on how to place them.

I couldn't pass up a Fichet even without the housing. It only went for $14. Shoot HT4 a message about reassembling that DUO. I'm hooked on them after I picked one he sent. His video on them are great. I forgot about this new Sargent Keso I got too. Me likey the Sargent Keso!

You know what, after writing on here I decided to have another go at it and I was able to find a few diagrams and got it back together. It's never coming apart again. The Keso is awesome! Lol I bought one from the same seller. I think he had a dozen or so. I had an older ic Keso that I also disassembled but the shell had to be cut off. Interesting stuff in there. 12 pins!

Glad you got your DUO operational again! Luckily I got the last Keso. I messaged the seller and he was an office manager and they decided to go with electronic locks. Have you managed to pick it? These things are tough. Gonna give mine a go when the tater tot goes to sleep. Maybe some Heineken will help

Not even close to picking it. Most of the pins touch each other in the middle of the keyway and if your pick is too thick you will overset. Plus, it doesn't have security pins and doesn't give good feedback. Good luck I got nowhere.

Added a NOS 8088 and 8065 (1968) to the collection. I posted a thread before about a fair price for the 8088. $30 was right on the money shipped. Just have to be patient

Got these in the last few days. Squire SS65CS with R1 keyway profile, Burg Alpha 800 and another Gamma 700 Burg. Kind of curious to see what the Squire has under it's sleeve.

Only recently occurred to me that even locks with seemingly specialised core types, or that come stock with cores, can be switched out if you can find compatible ones (and sometimes with the right cam interfaces, i.e. Rotalok). Will have to look into seeing what other snowman cylinders are out there, to drop into some of my Rukos :mrgreen:

It's surprising what snowman cores are available over there. I've even seen a Medeco cylinders in snowman style

Keep checking ebay. The few on there are over priced though. Lots of searching for months and I scored the gamma and alpha 800 for about $60 shipped from the UK.

Got a Kaba 8 NOS (1970s) and a Kaba Gemini from Ebay for the collection. Also was surprised with an awesome parcel that included an Assa Ruko 2 with 7 pin core!
